When God called Moses to serve and follow Him, He asked Moses, "What is that in your hand?" Moses replied: "A rod." All Moses held in his hand - was a piece of wood, a simple stick from a tree in the wilderness. It was nothing fancy, expensive or elaborate. It wasn't scepter from pharaoh'a throne, or a symbol of worldly wealth, wisdom or knowledge. It was just a rod - used in the trade of common people like shepherds.

Though there was nothing special about the rod in Moses' hand, God used the simple tool in the hand of a humble servant to humble the world's most powerful nation, and reveal His greatness in their midst.

Jesus can take whatever you have to offer Him today, as well, and use it for His glory. If you will give your life, and whatever you possess, completely to Him, like Moses did, God will use you to help set your friends and family free today!

If you, like Moses, will surrender whatever you have in your hand today, and allow Him to use it as He wills - you will be amazed at what God can do through a simple tool, and surrendered heart, to reveal His transforming power to the world!   (Pastor Tom Cannon)
