Let's start the year off right - by seeking the Lord with all our heart, mind and soul throughout the entire month of January.
We are putting out the call for Church-wide Prayer & Fasting, starting at 8PM on Sunday, January 5th and continuing through January 31st (Jan. 5-31, 2014). Every Wednesday PM service (7-8:15PM) will be devoted to praying for specific topics/ needs within our world.
Please join us in kicking the year off right - through Prayer & Fasting for our families, nations, and world. Thanks - and be blessed.

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER & FASTING?
Fasting is the most powerful spiritual discipline of all the Christian disciplines. Through fasting and prayer, the Holy Spirit can transform your life.
Fasting and prayer can also work on a much grander scale. According to Scripture, personal experience and observation, I am convinced that when God's people fast with a proper Biblical motive-seeking God's face not His hand-with a broken, repentant, and contrite spirit, God will hear from heaven and heal our lives, our churches, our communities, our nation and world. Fasting and prayer can bring about revival - a change in the direction of our nation, the nations of earth and the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
The awesome power can be released through you as you fast through the enabling of the Holy Spirit. (Bill Bright)
DO I HAVE TO DO A COMPLETE FAST TO BE PART OF THIS EVENT?
Certainly not. Any commitment you make to pray and fast will be gladly received by the Lord. God understands all the variables in your life, and does not make hard or fast rules for us to abide by. In fact, throughout the Bible, different types of fasts are mentioned. God accepts them all, and I fully believe that He will respond to each of them with His presence, and increased power.
MUST I ABSTAIN FROM ALL FOOD FOR MY FAST TO 'COUNT' WITH GOD
No. As stated previously, there are a wide variety of fasts we can participate in throughout the month. The important thing is to remember to do what you are comfortable with, and capable of doing. Example: anyone with health issues (diabetes, etc.) should always seek their doctor's counsel before participating in any fast.
But it should also be noted; your fast is between you and the Lord - and whatever type fast you choose is going to be met with approval and acceptance, because He is seeking a people who will simply seek Him and call on His name. When we do that, He will respond favorably.
ARE THERE DIFFERENT KINDS OF FASTS? IF SO, WHAT ARE THEY?
There are several types of fasting. The one you choose is between you and God. He will honor your best sacrifice.
A partial fast can be giving up all food for a specified part of the day (skip a meal). Example: fast from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm or from sun up to sundown.
You can also select a partial fast based upon surrendering your favorite foods. Example: chocolate, coffee, soft drinks, — or at least one other item of food.
A media fast would include giving up time-snatching activities that keep you from having time to spend with God. Television is the biggie, of course, but other media types would include: Facebook, movies, reading for leisure, etc.
The Daniel Fast
Eat no meat, no sweets and no bread. Drink water and juice. Eat fruits and vegetables.
Drink only liquids (you establish the number of days). Only commit to this fast if you are physically able, and follow your doctor's directions)
This fast can be a Full Fast, Daniel Fast or give up at least one item of food.
Remember that it is the attitude of a heart sincerely seeking Him to which God responds with a blessing (Isaiah 58, Jeremiah 14:12, 1 Corinthians 8:8). May God greatly bless you as you fast! (Jentezen Franklin)
WHAT TOPICS WILL WE BE PRAYING ABOUT DURING THE MONTH OF JANUARY?

WILL THERE BE TIMES OF CORPORATE PRAYER (together) THROUGHOUT THE MONTH?
Every Wednesday evening - throughout the entire month of January - will be dedicated to seeking the Lord in Prayer & Fasting. Our Wednesday service meets from 7:00PM - 8:30PM. Hope to see you there!!!
