Hundreds of years before Jesus was born in an unsanitary barn (stable), in a little overcrowded town, called Bethlehem, God prophetically foretold His coming through a prophet named, Isaiah.

"For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this." (Isaiah 9:6-7)

Today, we enjoy the benefits of that amazing day - for Christ DID come to US, and HAS accomplished all those many promises (and more) on our behalf. Thanks to His sacrifice, we have joyfully become the recipients of the divine promise, and the beneficiaries of heaven's blessed, redeeming gift! Only Jesus Christ could do for us, what has been accomplished through His perfect life, and sacrificial death on the Cross.

At this time of year, I love thinking about everything our blessed Lord came to accomplish for us - and it is with a grateful heart - that I look back over the past year and give Him thanks for every mercy, blessing, provision, protection, and every other amazing benefit He has bestowed upon my life!

I invite you to join me, either at Cross Church, here in Romeo, MI, to give thanks to the Lord for His many fulfilled promises and provisions (Sundays @ 11AM - Wednesdays @ 7PM), or find a church near you - and take the time to establish a new lifestyle of gratitude and surrender to the One who came that blessed Christmas Day - to begin a journey that would lead Him to the Cross, to give His life to pay the sin debt you and I owed.

His sacrifice has cleared the way for us - to experience restored relationship with God. The wise among us will receive His gift, and live their lives to please their sacrificial, and loving Lord, as well.

God bless you as you find your way to Him - who truly is the Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. May you begin this day, the journey that will lead you to daily gratitude for the decision you made, and the path you have chosen - from this day to forever!
